MATABELELAND South Provincial Affairs minister Abedinico Ncube, who fell and broke his leg during Zanu PF victory celebrations in Beitbridge last month, has been discharged from Bulawayo’s Mater Dei Hospital.

However, Ncube is still unable to walk and is wheelchair-bound with senior nurses from Gwanda Hospital attending to him around the clock at his Jacaranda residence in the town.
Sources who recently visited Ncube at home said although he was recovering steadily, he was still unable to walk without support.
“He is recovering although he still uses a wheelchair and crutches to move around. Nurses are keeping an eye on him 24 hours a day,” said a source.
Southern Eye spotted Ncube using a walker to get into his Ford Everest vehicle at his offices in Gwanda yesterday after attending a meeting with members of the Zimbabwe Defence College.
Ncube also received briefings from government departments in the province, but it could not be ascertained whether he had now returned to work.
“He has been getting briefings on what is happening in the province,” said a source.
