Students in court over exam cheating

A GWANDA HIGH SCHOOL “A” Level pupil and his “O” Level friend appeared in court facing fraud charges after they had hatched a plan for the former to write a Mathematics examination on behalf of the latter for a fee.

The “A” Level student Steve Tafara Moyo and Honest Chisenga both pleaded guilty when they appeared before Gwanda provincial magistrate Reuben Mukavhi yesterday.

Allegations against the two are that on November 7 at around 8am, Moyo and Chisenga, acting in consent, connived to have Moyo to write an “O” Level Mathematics Paper 2 on behalf of Chisenga.

Chisenga gave his national identity document (ID) to Moyo, which he produced, but was discovered by the invigilator Simisosenkosi Sola, who had been tipped. Moyo was arrested and implicated Chisenga who was also arrested.

The two were remanded out of custody to today.
