The Young warriors got their goals from Carlos Rusere in the 32nd minute, Liberty Chakaroma in the 56th minute and a 66th minute strike by Walter Musona.

The Young Warriors were rewarded in the 32nd minute after piling pressure on the Botswana side with Rusere receiving the ball inside the box and turned before firing a left-footer into the net.

Zimbabwe continued to pile on the pressure and were almost rewarded with a second goal, but Mgcini Sibanda’s blistering shot was pushed out for a corner.

Zimbabwe were rewarded 11 minutes after the break when Musona’s well take corner-kick saw Chakaroma rise above a static Botswana defence to plant home the second for the defending champions.

Musona who had always been troubling the Botswana defence was rewarded for his effort in the 66th minute when he scored his second goal of the tournament through a well taken free-kick.

He was immediately pulled out for Bret Amidu.

Zimbabwe finished at the top of the log with six points, with Botswana, leading the pack before the match, relegated to second position.
