Kingston Lussate one of the organisers told Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday in an interview: “We are raring to go and we invite all for the biggest show this festive season, all the performers have confirmed their participation and we can’t wait for the big night.”

Joe Nyamungoma, Chimbetu’s manager echoed the same sentiments with Lussate, saying the sungura musician was ready for the night.

“It is good to return to the City of Kings. Bulawayo has always been our home and like always, we are going to deliver. I urge everyone to come and witness the best of Sulu and Tuku on Friday, if you are a party lover Amphitheatre on Friday night is the place to be,” Nyamungoma said.

Tuku and Sulu would be supported by local a cappella outfit Family Voices and Iyasa.

“We have included local artistes since the show is being held in Bulawayo and we felt that locals should be given a chance to showcase their talents as well.

“This is an initiative to support and promote local talent and we hope this will go a long way in the music industry and also in making local products known out there,” Lussate said.

Brighton Ncube Family Voices co-ordinator said: “We are ready and excited to share the stage with a great man like Tuku and it is going to be the second time to do so, We performed at his ‘Tribute’ show which was part of his birthday celebrations and it’s an honour doing it once again.”

Family Voices is affiliated to the Family of God Church which has produced the likes of Eric Moyo, Victor Adams and Mkhululi Bhebhe, who is with South Africa’s Joyous Celebration.

Iyasa is well known for its highly energetic dances and has widely travelled internationally.

Tuku is expected to play many of his songs that have brought him fame in the years. Tuku and Sulu’s last dance with Bulawayo fans at Bulawayo Amphitheatre in September saw top-class performances from the two.

The Sulu-Tuku duet has produced Kwedu also known as Kata, which is on Sulu’s award-winning album Non-Stop.
