BPA chairman Godfrey Kondo hailed the 2013 season as a success, but said they were looking forward to a better one next year.

Big plans are earmarked for the 2014 BPA season as Kondo indicated they were working tirelessly to lure the corporate world to sponsor the sport.

“The season was a fruitful one and we are hoping that next year we would take it from where we left.

“Plans are in place to engage the corporate world and the media so that it could be easier for us to run this association,” Kondo said.

Top five teams in both the premier and the division one league got monetary prizes while the top three teams in both leagues received medals.

The winners of the 2013 Premier League Kings Sports Club walked away with $2 000 cash , a shield and 30 gold medals.

Entumbane was awarded with $1 600 and 30 silver medals for coming second while Extreme Pool Club pocketed $1 200 and 30 bronze medals.

Raylton Pool Club and Gold and Black received $800 and $400 for coming fourth and fifth respectively.

In the Division One League Nketa Stars who clinched the first ticket to the Premier League also pocketed $1 300 prize money coupled with a shield and 30 gold medals.

TelOne Dragons and Drill Hall got $1 000 and 30 silver medals and $800 plus 30 bronze medals respectively.

For coming fourth and being the final team promoted to the Premier League West Com got $600 while fifth-placed UBH walked away with $300 for their efforts.

Fall Staff, Heroes, Nkulumane and Black Eagles were all relegated from the Premier League and they will be playing in the Division One next season.

Shylet Musonho of Exchange Pool Club and Sithembiso Dube of Shumba Bar Pool Club won the women’s Excellency awards after the two came first and third respectively in the National Carling Black Label Pool tournament.

Terrence Mindu of Entumbane, Joseph Tamamikwa, Maradona Khumbula (Entumbane) and McDonald Shamu of Nkulumane Pool Club emerged winners of men’s excellence awards as they managed to reach the last-16 stage of the National Carling Black Label tournament.

Khumbula, Tamamikwa and Mutizwa of Kings clinched the Grandmasters awards.
