It is a time when people shift focus from their day-to-day activities and celebrate the day in different ways.

Southern Eye Sport spoke to different sports personalities to find out what they will be doing tomorrow.

Chicken Inn captain and Warriors defender Felix Chindungwe said he will not be able to spend the day with his family since he would be in Harare.

“I will spend Christmas with my friends Charles Sibanda, Danny Phiri, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Simba Sithole, Masimba Mambare and Milton Ncube in Harare. I cannot travel to Bulawayo because we are breaking today and resume camp on December 26. I will just go out for a braai. It is sad that I will not be able to spend Christmas with my family, but I am on national team assignment. The family knows and understands that I am at work and that is where I get money so that they survive. They will just send me pictures so that I see what they will be doing,” he said.

FC Platinum forward Sibanda who is also part of the Warriors team in camp for the Orange African Nations Championships said he will also not be travelling to Zvishavane.

“We are only breaking on Christmas day so for me to travel to Zvishavane will be too hectic because we are expected back in camp on Boxing Day. So I will just spend time with my friends,” he said.

Bulawayo Golf Club professional Phillip Tshuma said he will spend the day with his family.

“Our Christmas celebrations started last week when we hosted a festive season tournament for junior golfers in Victoria Falls on Sunday. I am back home now and I will spend Christmas with my family,” he said.

Buffaloes new coach Luke Masomere said to him it will be business as usual.

“I will be busy on the day because I am working on some building projects. I need every cent to ensure that the houses are complete so there is no spare time for me. So I will not celebrate this year’s Christmas,” he said.

Injured Hwange midfielder Nkosana “Santsho” Siwela who is in plaster, said he would likely spend Christmas in Hwange.

“I will spend the day with my family and friends. I think I will be in Hwange. The plaster will be removed next week and I will be fine then,” he said.
