THE Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) board has appointed Loughty Dube as executive director with effect from January 1.

Dube’s appointment followed the resignation of executive director Takura Zhangazha who left the organisation on November 30 2013 to pursue other interests after heading the VMCZ secretariat for three years.
Dube has been acting executive director. He was previously the VMCZ’s programmes officer, advocacy and complaints.
Dube has 15 years media and training experience and he has held several leadership positions in media organisations.
VMCZ is an organisation whose objective is to monitor media trends, course content and ethics in media training institutions and to consult and offer advice and support to such institutions.
