Mlalazi, currently in German furthering his writing skills, said he started writing the book in 2007, but completed it last year.

He said he was happy that his creative output had finally found a publisher, adding his readers should expect the book during the first week of March.

The launch would be in Germany before being conducted in Zimbabwe. Mlalazi posted on his Facebook page that he was happy that editing of the book was at an advanced stage and the publishers would soon be running it.

“Don’t worry guys, editing is almost complete and my book will be out soon in the first week of March and you will be reading it,” he said.

Mlalazi said he was now working hard on improving his writing skills so that his fifth book would be published early.

“I am so happy that today marks the wrapping up of a seven-year project, as the first word in the manuscript was written in 2007,” he said.

“I also hope I will write my next book faster.

“I don’t want to spend more than five years on a single manuscript anymore.”

Mlalazi is a fiction writer and playwright. He has authored novels like Many Rivers and Running With Mother.

He authored an anthology of short stories titled Dancing With Life: Tales From the Township, which won the best first book award at the National Arts Merit Awards. Mlalazi’s eight plays, including the 2008 Oxfam/Novib PEN Freedom of Expression Award winner The Crocodile of Zambezi, have all been staged.
