The festival which will run under the theme “Bring your Fire” has been scheduled for May 30 to June 1 in Swaziland’s Ezulwini Valley.

Marcus Gora the band manager told Southern Eye Lifestyle that they were excited to be part of the festival.

“We are very excited to be part of the festival.

“This will be the first time to perform there and we look forward to sharing our music with a new audience as well as enjoying the magic of the festival,” he said.

Gora added that the festival means a lot to the group and Zimbabwe.

“It is an internationally acclaimed festival and is an important contributor to the arts and culture scene in Swaziland with a huge focus on community development,” Gora said.

“Travelling and performing in many countries has helped us gain invaluable experience and to grow as musicians. We are growing in confidence and we are now comfortable with performing to diverse audiences and platforms,” he added.

Gora revealed that Mokoomba will travel wider this year.

“We will have another busy year with a good number of local concerts and festivals as well as tours to parts of Africa, Europe, Oceania, America,”

“We are fortunate to have a loyal and growing audience in Zimbabwe and around the world and we look forward to having great encounters this year and beyond,” Gora said.

The Victoria Falls outfit’s professional delivery and exciting blend of African rhythms has won them admirers at home and on the international front.

The six-member band consists of Mathias Muzaza, Abundance Mutori, Costa Ndaba, Trustworthy Moyo, Samende Miti Mugande and McDonald Moyo.

The (Swazi) festival started in 2007 and has developed a well-deserved reputation for its visionary approach, integrity and a call to act which defines its commitment to nurturing the Swazi arts and cultural scene.
