Ndlovu is the outgoing BBA secretary-general after he was elected last year in September, but left office before his term expired committing himself to national duty.

BBA president Opportunity Moyo confirmed the developments to Southern Eye.

“I would like to confirm that Howard Pangwana has been duly elected BBA secretary-general after getting six votes beating Thokozani Sigola of Milton and Steward Woods of Highlanders who got one vote each,” he said.

Moyo described Pangwana as a hard working individual who has the vision and passion for the sport.

She said Pangwana’s presence on board is something she appreciates and hoped they would work hand in hand to take the sport to higher levels in the province.

“I am glad to have him on board. Just like the outgoing secretary-general, Pangwana is a hardworking and dedicated character, so basically I think he will definitely make an impact,” Moyo added.

Ndlovu also expressed confidence in Pangwana describing him as someone willing to learn more about basketball.

“I am now taking a more challenging task, but I know the person elected will be up to the task. He is a principled person who is also willing to learn and the good part of it is that I did not go out of basketball,” he said.

Pangwana said he felt honoured to be elected in to the office and is looking forward to deliver.

“It is good to be recognised by basketball society around me. It gives me confidence, so I am promising to be at my best during my term in office,” he said.

Meanwhile, the BBA league will enter the second half of the season next week.
