Highlanders have been making efforts to sign the midfielder, but nothing has come out of the deal and could lose the player to PSL returnees Chapungu Football Club, How Mine and defending league champions Dynamos all reported to be eyeing him.

The midfielder yesterday told Southern Eye Sport that he was still waiting for the Bosso executive to call him so that they could continue with their negotiations. He also revealed that three other clubs had shown interest in him.

“I’m still waiting for them (Highlanders) to call me. It is true that there are about three teams other than Highlanders that have approached me so far.

“I cannot reveal them, but I have considered Highlanders first because Bosso is my home. If I’m offered a favourable deal at Highlanders then I will join them. It is now up to them to make a decision as I am still waiting for them,” Ngodzo said.

Last week he said he would be happy if Bosso gave him money for one year and the rest later.

However, Highlanders secretary Andrew Tapela said he could not comment about the club’s targets.

“For now I don’t have comments regarding our new signings. The right time will come where we will put our things together and give the media correct information,” Tapela said.

Ngodzo has not made it a secret that Bosso is his first preference and with sponsors BancABC having released $100 000 for player transfers last week, the former Young Warriors star remains likely destined for Emagumeni.

Bosso have already lost Masimba Mambare and Njabulo “Tshiki” Ncube to Dynamos and FC Platinum respectively while welcoming Khumbulani Banda, Welcome Ndiweni and Valentine Ndaba as they bolster their squad for the 2014 season.

Highlanders are still hoping to retain Peter “Rio” Moyo and Milton Ncube who are in South Africa on national duty with the Warriors for the African Nations Championships.

Two Canadian players — goalkeeper Jean- Félix Lemieux (19) and striker Philippe Barriault (20) — are expected in the country this Friday to start training with Highlanders.

Coach Kelvin Kaindu is still away in Zambia completing Caf A Licence coaching course, but would be back next month to take over the final preparations before the season starts with the NetOne Charity Shield on March 1.

However, Kaindu’s season will begin with the annual Bob90 Super Cup against Dynamos, which will be launched in Harare tomorrow.

Highlanders, the defending Mbada Diamonds Cup winners, will take part in the competition alongside Dynamos, Harare City and FC Platinum.

The former league champions will also be launching a serious onslaught on the BancABC Sup8r, the league title and defending the Mbada Diamonds Cup.
