Vimbai Manaka (39) is facing two charges of criminal abuse of office and contravening a section of the Zimbabwe School Examination Council Act.

Bonaventure Mungwiro (42), who teaches at Manunure High in Kwekwe, his brother Bernadino, a teacher at Munyati High in Kwekwe, Michael Chiridzo (40) and Lloyd Mpofu both teachers at Chirodzo Private College in Kwekwe and William Gondo, a director of Booms College in Mkoba 2, Gweru, are also facing similar charges and will appear in court again on February 4.

It is the State’s case that on November 3 last year, Manaka received 2013 “O” Level exam papers for Geography Paper 2 and Integrated Science Paper 2.

Manaka allegedly kept the question papers in the school’s safe which he kept at his house.

He allegedly sold the exam papers to Mpofu, a teacher at Chirodzo College who later sold the papers to various people in Kwekwe.

Police received information that Mpofu was selling Geography and Science exam papers.

When interrogated, Gondo indicated that he had bought the paper from Mungwiro for $100.

Further investigations led them to Manaka, who was arrested.
