State prosecutor Fiona Mukwena applied for a warrant of arrest against Chinyuku when he failed to appear before Kwekwe magistrate Letwin Rwodzi for judgment after the defence had closed its case early this month.

His co-accused Scott Kim, who appeared in court on Monday, was remanded out of custody to January 31.

Police have now launched a manhunt for Chinyuku.

The State alleged that Chinyuku and Kim connived to defraud Sable by creating a false e-mail account that was almost identical to South African energy company Sasol.

They wrote an email posing as Sasol’s finance manager Edline Holmes in which they produced a profoma invoice of $100 000 on a Sasol letterhead demanding that payment be made into United Links Worldwide’s Stanbic Bank account.
