This weekend’s fixtures could not be played following BBA’s expulsion from using the school’s courts and the basketball association executive committee is making frantic efforts to get an alternative venue to finish off the second half of the season.

BBA secretary general Howard Pangwana yesterday confirmed that they had been shown the door at Northlea and the weekend games have been postponed.

“We had small glitches and as it stands we are not going to have any games this weekend. We had to convene as a board yesterday to map the way forward. It has all been administrative issues and Northlea had been meant to be a temporary set-up after the closure of BCD (Bulawayo Courts for the Disbaled). Northlea gave us short notice and you know our games are played up to 8:30pm. The courts are close to the school buildings and we would not want to disturb students with their studies. However, we hope by Tuesday we would have secured an alternative venue as there are people that we are talking to,” Pangwana said.

In a review of the 2013, BBA president Opportunity Moyo last month said the closure of BCD and financial constraints were the major challenges for association.
