DESPITE topping the Botswana beMOBILE League log standing with nine games left in the season, Township Rollers coach Madinda Ndlovu says the race is still wide open. SUKOLUHLE MTHETHWA SPORTS REPORTER

Township Rollers rule the roost with 45 points from 21 games. BDF X1 are second with 44 points from 22 games while his former team Mochudi Centre Chiefs, who recently fired their coach, are third with 41 points from 22 games.

Gaborone United are fourth with 41 points from 21 games while Wonder Sporting are fifth with 38 points from 22 games.

Ndlovu yesterday told Southern Eye Sport in a telephone interview from his base that the season was far from being over.

“We are still top of the log table, but it is still a marathon. The league is still far from over. Competition is very stiff and the league title can go to any team that is in the top five,” he said.

Ndlovu won two titles with Mochudi Centre Chiefs and stands a chance of winning his third successive title.

“For the past two seasons when I was at Mochudi Centre Chiefs, it was clear at this point that we would win the league as we were seven points ahead. This time it is different because teams at the top are separated by a few points,” he said.

However, Ndlovu is happy with his team’s performance.

“I am with a new team now. We have loaned Zimbabwean player William Kupera to Orapa United. He is still our player and we will get him back at the end of the season. We have also added one striker Manqoba ‘Shakes’ Ngwenya to our team. We have a Namibian and Malawian in our team,” he added.
