RODWELL Chinyengetere returned to Hwange in emphatic fashion yesterday when he scored twice to propel the hosts to a stunning opening Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) win over Buffaloes at the Colliery Stadium.

And with the victory, Hwange sit at the summit of the log after match day one.
Sidelined by injured for the whole of last season, the former Warriors midfielder scored twice in the 41st and 69th minutes.
Chipangano got the first goal through Evans Rusike in the fourth minute after converting a rebound in the box.
Buffaloes equalised in the 32nd minute when Kelvin Thembani’s nicely taken set piece just outside the box beat Hwange goalminder Timothy Sibanda. Thembani was then sent off for a reckless challenge on Eric Chipeta in the 56th minute.
Hwange regained the lead in the 41st minute when Chinyengetere scored from a rebound after Chipeta’s free-kick was punched back into play.

Chinyengetere completed his brace in the 69th minute before Rusike also made it two for himself in the 66th minute. Substitute Tafara Chese added the fifth.
Buffaloes coach Luke Masomere accused the referee of being biased. “Overally, it was a good game and I cannot cry foul on my first match in charge.
However, PSL should stop using local referees as this jeopardises the game of football.
“The referee denied us a clear penalty and I believe it could have brought us back into the match.”
Hwange’ goalkeepers’ coach Chenjerai Dube was pleased with the result. “We started on a slow note, but managed to gain momentum as the game progressed. Overally, we played a good game,” he said.
