Musharu played a major role in the team’s Caf Confederation Cup campaign, scoring six goals in four matches.

How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo said AmaZulu had requested an extension for the player at the weekend.

“I have been trying to get hold of AmaZulu since morning, but my calls have gone unanswered. We were expecting him at the weekend, but I was not in the office then and when I returned I was told they had requested for an extension as they wanted to organise friendlies and assess him further,” he said.

Musharu was not available in the team’s 1-3 defeat to Bantu Rovers at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.

With the absence of Musharu, former Bosso striker Heritein Masuku played the position, but was, however, substituted 37 minutes into the match for Timothy January who scored the only goal.

Nkomo said they were still to get a report of his performance during trials.

“We are yet to get a report on his performance at AmaZulu. Hopefully we will get him before our next match. Musharu is a seasoned player and one week with him should be enough for AmaZulu to assess him,” Nkomo said.

Musharu could probably join fellow Zimbabweans Tapuwa Kapini and defender Carlington Nyadombo.

This weekend How Mine will play league returnees Chapungu at Ascot Stadium. They are still to get off the mark having lost the opening match against Dynamos 0-1 at home.

How Mine have so far scored one goal and are second from the bottom of the log with Harare City who have also lost two matches anchoring the log.
