Chiredzi are second from the bottom of the log having drawn once in four outings while How Mine have four points from one win and one draw.

The Metallon Gold-sponsored How Mine assistant coach Simba Rusike said they were aiming at the three points.

“We are going to look for a win. We have a full squad and everyone is ready for selection. We will not be looking much into what they have achieved, but we will focus on getting maximum points,” he said.

How Mine won their first match 2-1 last weekend against Shabanie Mine with Chiredzi losing 1-2 to Black Rhinos.

Rusike said their first win last weekend was the turning point for the side who seemingly struggled in the past four weeks, mainly due to fatigue after their participation in the Caf Confederation Cup.

“Our win against Shabanie was the turning point for us. We are going there to look for nothing but points,” he said.

How Mine who have a number of seasoned players in their team, could give newboys Chiredzi a tough game.

Menard Mupera, Brighton Dube, George Magariro, Kuda Musharu, who was recently on trial at AmaZulu in South Africa, Nyasha Mukumbi, Thembani Masuku, Timothy January and goalkeeper Ephraim Mazarura are in the How Mine team.

Chiredzi will be without Abel Gwatidzo who is serving a one-match ban for accumulating three yellow cards.

They will bank on veterans Norman Maroto and Rowan Nenzou, Sam Musimbu, Munyaradzi Chiwara, Malvern Gaki and goalkeeper Simon Kafitire. Chiredzi are yet to win a league match and only a point separates them from struggling Harare City who are still to get off the blocks and are at the base of the standings. Harare City play Buffaloes at Rufaro Stadium in another encounter this afternoon.
