Former Quelaton and How Mine midfielder Gracious Nleya’s second-half strike was enough for Chiefs as they held on until the last whistle to bag maximum points.

Chiefs maintained their position on top of the log with 13 points from a possible 15 having won four and drawn only one of their opening five games of the season.

The 2013 champions are yet to concede a goal in the competition as they have kept four clean sheets in matches they have played so far.

Chiefs beat Hwange Juniors 1-0 in their opening match of the season at Raylton. They held Trumus 0-0 in Victoria Falls, beat Zimbabwe Saints 1-0, registered a walkover against New West who failed to produce licences before beating Elephant FC 1-0 on Saturday.

In other matches, ZPC Hwange succumbed to a 0-1 defeat at home in the hands of former PSL outfit Quelaton in a match played in Hwange.

Hwange Juniors beat Portland Cement 1-0 in their own backyard. Technosphere registered the biggest win of the week as they edged Old Nic Mine 2-0 in Hwange.

Kabwe Warriors failed to travel for their away match against Tsholotsho FC.

Zifa administrator Augustine Ndlovu said they were yet to make a final decision about the case as Kabwe Warriors had not yet approached the football mother body about their failure to fulfill the fixture.

“The match was not played as the visiting team did not travel to fulfill the fixture. At the moment we do not know the reason because they have not yet communicated with us,” he said.

Ndlovu said the match between Zimbabwe Saints and Mpumalanga was postponed as the former PSL club was yet to pay the full affiliation fees for participating in the league.

The match between New West and Ntabazinduna Prison was postponed as Ntabazinduna Correctional Prison Services were having passout parade.
