Zimpost are now on 18 points, a point ahead of second-placed Stanbic Queens and two separating them from former league champions Nehanda Nyakasikana in third place.

ZPC Hwange, who lost their fourth match of the season, are 13th on the log with eight points from nine matches.

The power utility queens played two other matches and could have been affected by fatigue, but beat ZRP Harare 35-26 and drew against Airforce 33-33. ZRP Harare recorded their first win of the season when they overcame workmates ZRP Midlands 47-21.

ZRP Midlands are still to win a match as they were beaten 12-38 by Warthog. After 13 matches ZRP Midlands are 19th on the log with only a superior goal advantage separating them from log anchors Mutare Polytechnic.

Second-placed Stanbic Queens had their first match against Tennax abandoned in the 66th minute due to crowd trouble. Stanbic, however, creamed Mutare Polytechnic 86-9 in their other match. The bankers are the only team in the league that has not lost.

Nehanda Nyakasikana, Mambas Queens, Khami Queens, Jumbos, Support Unit and defending champions ZDF Queens did not play at the weekend. Waruwaru beat Black Rhinos 46-42.

Meanwhile, in the Bulawayo Provincial Netball League Zesa got off to a blistering start when they beat Amhlophe 37-9 and dismissed Ntabazinduna ZRP 25-13.

It was not Amhlophe’s day as they went on to lose their second match against Railstars 68-5. ZRP Bulawayo won the match against Zimpost with TelOne falling to Freestars 15-62.
