Chiefs have picked up 16 points from seven games, having won five, drawn one and lost once.

Tsholotsho FC, who have not lost a match and have a game in hand going into round eight of this year’s programme, are on the second spot with 14 points from six matches. They will have their game away to new boys Old Nic Mine postponed with the latter having sought the deferment.

The Thulani Sibanda-coached Plumtree Chiefs, clobbered Old Nic Mine 7-1 last week at Raylton Sports Club with goals coming from former Quelaton players Tedious Mugumanya, who notched a hat trick while Kundishora Chakanyuka gabbed a brace.

The other goals came from Francis Niko and Shelton Sibanda.

Technosphere on position three with 13 points from seven games, will travel to Victoria Falls on Sunday for a date with the Peter Manoti-coached Trumus, who started the league on a high note, but have since shot down to position seven with 10 points. They have played four draws, winning two times with only one defeat.

Hwange-based Technosphere have not lost a single match in seven outings, having three wins and four draws.

Their neighbours ZPC Hwange, on the fourth spot with 12 points from seven matches, will be out of action this weekend as they were due to play Zimbabwe Saints, who have been expelled from the league after going for four matches without being fixtured following failure to pay affiliation fees and monies owed to Zifa from last year.

Mpumalanga, with 10 points from five matches, will be away tomorrow to Ntabazinduna Prison coached by former Warriors legend Agent Sawu.

Mpumalanga had their game against Elephant FC last week postponed as the latter, an army side, curtain-raised a charity match between PSL clubs Highlanders and FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium and they did not play their game against beleaguered Zimbabwe Saints.

Zimbabwe Saints were due to hold a crisis meeting at their clubhouse in Queens Park East yesterday evening.

Elephant FC will entertain police side Black Boots at HQ1 Brigade tomorrow while Portland Cement were due to play Kabwe Warriors who have also been booted out of the league while New West City will be away to Hwange Juniors in the coal mining town on Monday.
