The DJ now moves in a wheelchair while awaiting the delivery of crutches.

Speaking to the Southern Eye Lifestyle, DJ Sweeto confirmed breaking his leg early on Friday when he was from work at Metropolis Pub in Ascot with his friend DJ Fishtoz.

“It was in the early hours of Friday morning, around 1:23am when I was from work (spinning decks at Metropolis). We went out for some drinks with a friend, DJ Fishtoz,” he said.

“A taxi dropped us some streets away from home where we both stay in Khumalo. As we walked home, a car came out of the blue from the opposite direction. The driver was swerving from left to right then I became confused on which side of the road he was driving, until he got close to me. I had to jump off the road and I found myself in a drainage.”

DJ Sweeto said his friend, DJ Fishtoz had to assist him get off the drainage and both his legs were numb.

He was quickly rushed to a hospital.

“DJ Fishtoz quickly called a taxi because I could not walk and was rushed to UBH where I got admitted for a night. The doctor said I had a deep cut in my left leg and at the same time I had broken my right leg. I was cast in plaster and got some medication and a wheelchair from the hospital.

“The doctor said I should stay off the decks for a month, but I had been booked to play the decks for DJ Jay J’s birthday bash and Metropolis Pub so I will have to attend the shows,” he said.

But eyewitnesses who saw the pair leave Metropolis said they were visibly drunk.

“He was drunk when they left the club. He probably fell and broke his leg as he was staggering after downing one too many,” a source said.
