THOHOYANDOU — One man is single-handedly cornering the X-rated market in the Limpopo town of Thohoya-ndou where he runs the only adult shop and porn movie production house.
Zwoluga Madega (34) is fast becoming Thohoyandou’s very own Larry Flynt — the American porn kingpin known for owning a string of strip clubs and for producing porn movies and, most notably, the famous Hustler porn magazine.
Madega’s Hanzams Adult Shop is located on the first floor of a busy double storey office complex, sharing a floor with hair salons, funeral parlours, driving schools, internet cafés and loan service providers.
Ringing a cowbell at the door gets you in — provided you are strictly over the age of 18.
This is where a set of self-produced Traditional Venda Porn DVDs are on display for clients who go in and out every now and then, sometimes with a copy of Madega’s fast-selling Banana Volume 2 DVD.
“I can say more than 5 000 DVDs have been bought if I include copies sold by pirates on the street,” Madega said, sitting before his work station where he has been browsing through a gallery of semi-naked girls in their Venda traditional regalia. — The Sowetan
