The casting has been set for next Saturday at Studio 13 in Bradfield.

Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle MGI public relations manager Chris Mhlanga said all has been set for casting.

“This year’s pageant is ready to go and we are calling for participants who meet the right international requirements — aged between 17-25, never been married nor engaged, no child, a height limit of 1,65m, swim wear body, flawless skin, no blemishes, Zimbabwe’s birth certificate holder,” Mhlanga said.

“After the inaugural event last year everyone involved learnt something one way or the other. The pageant is ranked the world’s fourth biggest. We anticipate a positive growth all round — the quality of the contestants, their garments and a bigger production and increased following,” he added.

After the casting all will be ready for this year’s selection.

“After this year’s pageant has been announced, immediate grooming lessons as well as all necessary preparations for the event will be made, while I proceed to Ghana to help select their Miss Grand,” Mhlanga said.

Last year’s representative Samantha Tshuma was the only African to make it into the top 20.

The Zimbabwean competed against 74 other contestants drawn from all over the world.

Miss Puerto Rico, Janelee Chaparro, was crowned the first-ever queen of the pageant in Bangkok Thailand.

Tshuma was listed in the top 20 of the pageants’ beauty contests and top 20 swim suits.

This year’s finals will be held in Bangkok, Thailand.
