How to stop android apps from updating automatically

Have you ever bought data intending to use for whatsapp for instance only to find that all your apps have been updated and the data is finished

Have you ever bought data intending to use for whatsapp for instance only to find that all your apps have been updated and the data is finished- you can’t even send that whatsapp message! It sucks right? Well here’s an easy way of stopping those annoying automatic uppdates:

  1. Open Google Playstore on your android smartphone or tablet. If you don’t how the playstore looks like, see the picture below

2. Tap the menu button (that’s three square dots) located at the top right hand side of the screen and select Settings.

3.   Next, simply un-tick the box where it says Auto-update apps shown below. After that subsequent app updates will require your permission before they update. Playstore-untick

Okay that’s it you’re done no more automatic updates. Note, however that it’s important to periodically update the apps you use often, this will deal with bugs and help you benefit from new features- if they are any.
