The chilling revelations came to light when 29-year-old Soneni Dube of Gonkwe village appeared before Gwanda magistrate Sheila Nazombe on Friday charged with neglecting or ill-treating the boy.
She pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody for sentencing tomorrow.
The court heard that on June 14 this year Dube got irritated by her cousin’s continued bedwetting habit and at around 7pm she took an elastic band and tied the boys’ penis to prevent him from wetting the bed.
During the night, the boy woke up and indicated that he wanted to urinate and she untied her.
After relieving himself he was tied throughout the whole night Dube continued doing so for three days until the boy developed some skin irritation.
Her grandmother then examined his body and noticed the wound around the penis.
