Machila, who worked at the Munn Marketing distribution department in Bulawayo, died at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after a short illness.
People from different media and distribution companies attended the service at Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour in the city centre before the burial at West Park.
Machila’s supervisor Onesmus Fuzane described him as a hardworking man who was dependable, principled and had the zeal to do things the right way.
“As a company, we have lost a hardworking man who was very principled and dependable. He has left behind a family and we are with them in these difficult times, even though the void he left cannot be filled by anyone,” said Fuzane.
Machila’s brother-in-law, Africa Jubane, told mourners to accept that he was no more.
“I am encouraging everyone who is here to accept that he has been taken away from us and the Machila family because it is not the first time we have lost our loved ones, but as people who believe and trust in God, we should accept that it is his will,” he said.
