Tourism players in Victoria Falls told Southern Eye yesterday the summit has brought brisk business to the resort town which could surpass that made during United World Tourism Organisation held in August last year .

The resort town is reportedly congested with tourists and Sadc summit delegates. Zimbabwe Council for Tourism regional representative Barbra Murasiranwa told Southern Eye the summit had brought brisk business to the resort town.

“August is generally a busy month in the tourism calendar in the country,” she said.

“We (hotels) are full and the town is full. Tourists and delegates coming for the Sadc summit are desperate for accommodation, but we have asked people with good houses to assist.”

Murasiranwa said many tourists were coming from Japan, Asia, America, South Africa and Europe.

Employers Association of Tourism and Safari Operators, president Clement Mukwasi said tour operators were cashing in on the Sadc summit.
