Pamela Homela appeared before Kwekwe Provincial magistrate, Letwin Rwodzi on Wednesday facing a murder charge after she allegedly killed Proud Moyo (17).
It is the State’s case that on Monday morning, Moyo went into the kitchen with the intention of taking a knife so he could use it while mending a scotchcart tyre.
He, however, found Homela using the knife and an argument ensued with Homela refusing to release it. The two allegedly started tussling for the knife and in the process, the State alleges, Homela stabbed Moyo once in the chest.
“The now deceased staggered from the kitchen hut and fell some four metres from the door and died instantly. The accused who was still holding the knife and had blood stains on her clothing, was found still inside,” part of the State outline reads.
Moyo’s body was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital and a post mortem conducted by a Dr Moyo concluded that he died as a result of excessive bleeding from the stab wound.
In a warned cautioned statement, Homela said she had stabbed Moyo in self defence.
