The restaurant situated in the heart of Bulawayo’s central business district (CBD) opened its doors to the public last month and offers best quality products.

The opening of Mashies Coffee Shop and Restaurant comes in the backcloth of severe economic meltdown which has seen several businesses in Bulawayo closing shop.

In an interview with Southern Eye Business yesterday, Mashies Coffee Shop and Restaurant manager Patience Moyo said the restaurant was the first of its kind in Bulawayo offering indoor and outdoor facilities for the convenience of customers.

“The restaurant is unique and it offers all types of foods you might think of.

“We have English breakfast, all- day meals, steaks, hamburgers, seafood, among other key products. We have services such as children’s parties, meetings and cocktail meetings,” Moyo said.

“We want to be players in the restaurant industry because Bulawayo does not have many restaurants.

“We offer best quality services and products at affordable prices. Since we opened we have had celebrities coming to the restaurant and all of them really appreciated our services and line of products,” she added.

The restaurant is open for business seven days a week including public holidays.

She said they thought of investing in Bulawayo because the city was open for business and unique.

“Bulawayo is a unique city and one has to understand that. There are other people claiming that the City of Kings and Queens is dying and I would like to challenge them that they should rethink.

“Bulawayo is open for business and those who want to invest should come without delay.”

Most businesses nationwide are reeling from a severe liquidity crunch blamed on the prevailing harsh economic environment. Since the beginning of this year, more than four shops — especially food outlets — have opened shop defying the claims that Bulawayo is a dying city.
