Information obtained by Southern Eye Lifestyle indicates JBF will be held at the Central Johannesburg College, Ellis Park campus on September 26 to 27.

Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle, Pronix and Harmonic Rhythms leader Prosper “Pronix” Ndebele was excited at the opportunity to perform at the prestigious event.

“The whole group is excited, we have always dreamt of travelling. The genré of music we create is adopted from South Africa and therefore we are eager to see what the South Africans think of the sound we have created from theirs,” he said.

The band will share the stage with some prominent South African artistes such as Comedian Clinton Young and poet Mak Manaka.

The group is currently working on a debut six-track EP album at Face the Music studios which will carry songs such as Sebenza, I will carry you, Bahambile and Thembelitsha.

The album is set to be released in October. The jamboree would run under the theme Reading the Word and the World. It will be graced by Zanemvula Kizito Gatyeni Mda affectionetly known as Zakes Mda a South African novelist, poet and playwright who has won major South African and British literary awards for his novels and plays.

He is currently a patron of the Etisalat Prize for Literature.

Bringing together authors, artists, librarians and literary activists to host a number of activities including conversations with authors, book launches, workshops, seminars, a mini film festival and round table discussions, the JBF is also a platform for members of the public to host events.
