BLACK Boots, enjoying a two-point lead at the top of the Southern Region Division One League, will hope to continue with their performance when they face struggling New West at Fair Bridge tomorrow. THANDIWE MOYO SPORTS CORRESPONDENT Last weekend, Black Boots beat Hwange Under-20 3-2 while New West lost their 10th match of the season against old Nic Mine 0-1.

After 17 matches New West are struggling in the relegation zone with 13 points, five ahead of log anchors Portland Cement on eight.

Black Boots will probably bank on former Hwange midfielder Simon Njeleza who has been scoring crucial goals for his side.

Last weekend he scored against Hwange with Tashinga Mungate and Andrew Dzikamayi adding the other two.

Black Boots are looking to gain promotion into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) following in the footsteps of their counterparts Black Mambas, who were however, relegated back to the Northern Region Division One League.

Fifth-placed Plumtree Chiefs who had they not merged with PSL side Bantu Rovers could be in the top flight face Old Nic Mine in another encounter.

Chiefs played a goal-less draw against Trumus last weekend and that gave pacesetters Black Boots a five-point advantage rising to they are on 30 points. They are three points behind Technosphere and Ntabazinduna and two shy of Tsholotsho.

Seeing as their sister team Bantu Rovers is struggling in the PSL, Plumtree Chiefs would want to work hard and gain promotion again and maybe they could give Tshintsha Guluva another dance in the top league.

Ntabazinduna will take on Quelaton who have struggled to win the Division One title since their relegation from PSL in 2012.

They were promoted that year and played dismally which sent them back to their lower league.

On 11th position and with 14 points, Quelaton are not too far off the relegation zone and would have to work hard against Ntabazinduna who are in the championship race.

Quelaton have since merged with the National University of Science and Technology. ZPC Hwange will take on the Elephants in Hwange while Technosphere play Mpumalanga in the mining town tomorrow.
