The two, whose names were given to Southern Eye, have long been suspected of being part of the renewal team.

They are expected to be unveiled together with former Bulawayo MDC-T provincial chairperson and Makokoba legislator Gorden Moyo and former MDC-T Bulawayo provincial spokesperson Edwin Ndlovu as well as others whose identities have been kept under wraps.

Other Bulawayo MDC-T legislators that have dumped party leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s formation to join the renewal team include interim chairperson and Lobengula MP Samuel Sipepa Nkomo, Luveve MP Reggie Moyo and Pelandaba-Mpopoma legislator Bekithemba Nyathi.

“The two are also officially coming on board tomorrow unless they develop cold feet at the last minute,” a renewal team official told Southern Eye yesterday.

Prominent Bulawayo lawyer Kucaca Phulu, a former MDC-T provincial secretary for legal affairs, is set to be unveiled as the renewal team’s chairperson for the province.

Nkomo would not be drawn into commenting about who would be unveiled at today’s inaugural public meeting.

“I am not sure about that, but I will be very glad if they (MPs)come on board. I might not be in the know exactly because I was not in Bulawayo and have not been briefed as yet,” Nkomo said.

Chaos and infighting in the MDC-T began playing out after the loss to Zanu PF in the July 31 2013 elections.

After the elections, calls for Tsvangirai to step down grew, but he resisted.

In letters that sparked the fall-out early this year, expelled deputy treasurer-general Elton Mangoma accused Morgan Tsvangirai of abusing State funds meant for his government house when he was prime minister in the coalition government.
