EVANS Rusike scored a brace in either half of the break as Hwange routed Chapungu at the Colliery in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match yesterday.

Rusike opened the scoring for Hwange after 20 minutes, but Philip Marufu equalised for Chapungu 18 minutes later and the two teams went to the halftime break level.

Defender David Boriwondo restored Hwange’s lead with a header just after the break before Rusike made the game comfortable with his second goal of the afternoon, finishing off after some good work by Pritchard Mpelele.

The teenager also had an assist in the first goal. Substitute Aleck Marime put the icing on the cake late in the match to give Hwange a comfortable victory.

Meanwhile, substitute Kastigu Juwakinyu gave Moses Chunga a winning home debut as Buffaloes laboured to a narrow 1-0 win over Triangle at Sakubva Stadium yesterday.

Juwakinyu, who came in just after the hour mark, scored the all-important goal 14 minutes from time.

It was Chunga’s first home match after taking over from Luke Masomere, who joined How Mine last month. His first match was an impressive one-all stalemate against Highlanders in Bulawayo.

Chunga was happy with the win.
