SOUTH AFRICAN police last week said they were investigating the tragic death of an Old Pumula man Bernard Sibanda (37) who died after plunging from the third floor window of Yoeville flat in Johannesburg last Monday after an alleged altercation with his landlord over rental issues. LUYANDUHLOBO MAKWATI OWN CORRESPONDENT Reports from South Africa indicated that Sibanda was unhappy with his landlord after electricity to his apartment was disconnected despite him being up to date with rentals.
Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Captain Kabelo Marumo confirmed to Southern Eye that “an inquest case is registered for investigations.
No one has been arrested and an investigation to reveal how the deceased lost his life is ongoing,” According to chats by Sibanda’s friends in South Africa on their social network platform WhatsApp, hired thugs beat him up and they suspected that he was forced to jump from the third floor window to his death.
Sibanda’s friends circulated a picture of the alleged killer they named Nkonzo Mvundla. They also forwarded the photo to the deceased’s family and relatives.
