Felix Mafa Sibanda had no kind words for Mhlanga yesterday, describing him as a party destroyer and a “rigger” whose plans failed when at last Bulawayo members defied his rigging tactics at congress.

He said members must ignore his bitter remarks, as his departure was good riddance.

“I cannot watch and fold my hands while Mhlanga is assassinating both the party and the leadership right, left and centre,” Sibanda, who briefly defected from the MDC-T ahead of last year’s elections, said.

“He says he won the election, but at the same time, he contradicts himself by alleging that there was efficient rigging, “How could he have won, as he alleges that rigging was massive?”

Sibanda and Mhlanga have not seen eye to eye since the party held primary elections last year. The former Magwegwe legislator accuses the Pumula legislator of facilitating his defeat.

Mhlanga has reportedly confirmed that there was rigging in the primary elections, drawing the ire of the losing candidates.

“To put the record straight Mhlanga was not confirmed, but was rejected by the congress,” Mafa Sibanda said.

“Who does not know that he was a doctor of rigging in the Bulawayo 2013 primary elections?

“I am sure we all remember his passionate confession carried by many media houses.

“I, as, his victim am not surprised by his reaction, because he knew that his days were numbered in the MDC-T.”
