FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza is not getting carried away with his charges recent steady rise in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Pure Platinum Play have managed to collect seven points in their last three league games. Two points were dropped in the 0-0 controversial stalemate with champions Dynamos at Mandava Stadium where referee Mlindeli Ndebele denied them a clear penalty.
On Saturday, they humbled Harare City 2-0 in the capital and that result propelled them to position six with five games still to play. Their next match will be against red hot second-placed ZPC Kariba at Mandava on Saturday.
The Midlands giants are now a mere one point behind fourth-placed Highlanders and a top-four finish is not far from being achievable.
However, Mapeza the former Warriors gaffer refused to talk about his aspirations for the current campaign opting to laud his charges.
“I don’t want to talk about targets for the season because it will put us under unnecessary pressure. We will continue working hard and see what will happen at the end of the season.

“The players have been doing really well and I am happy for them,” Mapeza said.
Of the remaining five league matches the miners will play three at their home ground Mandava Stadium.
Mapeza’s arrival has coincided with some young players at the club hitting top form like the Moyo twins Kelvin and Elvis, Wisdom Mutasa, Walter Musona, Obrey Chirwa and Tatenda Dzumbunu.
If Mapeza manages to live up to expectations, his side will no doubt be a force to reckon in the league for many years given the youthful age of the bulk of his squad.
