Fresh start for TV star after health scare

JOHANNESBURG — IT’S a fabulous new start for Lerato Kganyago. The TV star has received a clean bill of health from doctors after she had fibroids (non-cancerous tumours) around her womb removed.

It took her about a year to fully recover from the procedure.

The newly-healed single former beauty queen, after calling off her engagement to Mamelodi Sundowns soccer star Katlego Mashego, is back at gym and looks ravishing.

Kganyago says she was not comfortable showing off her body after the procedure left her with a scar on her stomach. This is first time in front of the camera showing so much flesh.

“I’m confident in my skin and I’m starting a new life. I’ve even cut my hair short.” She said the health scare affecting many black women made her count her blessings.

“Life has been good to me, I feel like I’m starting a new life. 2015 will be a big year,” she said.

Kganyago hosts The Link on SABC 1 and has been dabbling in sport recently as a stand-in for Minnie Dlamini on SoccerZone, also on SABC 1.
