The Bulawayo outreach is set for November 25 to 29 before it moves to Gwanda and Binga.

The event will be hosted at the American Corner at the National Gallery in Bulawayo, Amakhosi Theatre and Tshabalala youth Centre.

“The films are selected for relevance, artistry and uniqueness, and they interrogate, debate and celebrate the world of women as well as the world and communities that women live in,” said IIF director Yvonne Jila.

Jila said the theme — “Women Alive: Women of Heart” — was about women who are tough, brave and emotionally strong, yet they possess a rare gift of loving unconditionally.

IIFF was founded in 2002 to give Zimbabwean filmmakers a competitive edge by focusing on women’s creativity.

The international images film festival was first hosted in Harare in August.

After the Bulawayo outreach, the event will move to Gwanda before it goes Binga in the first week of December.
