Ndlovu narrowly lost by six votes to incumbent Andrew Tapela in 2012.

Tapela, who is not eligible to contest after serving two terms as per Highlanders’ constitution, garnered 153 votes with Ndlovu getting 147 in 2012 — the year chairman Peter Dube was elected chairman.

Dube’s post is up for grabs, but the Premier Soccer League vice-chairman has not come out clear if he will be seeking re-election next year.

Businessman Donald Ndebele, who also lost in the 2012 election for the secretary post, is also throwing in the hat once again for that position after getting only 55 votes in the last election.

“I want to go up the ladder systematically,” he said. “I am contesting for the secretary-general post. It’s a calling from the people who have my background and I know that I have been involved in football in general and Bosso in particular for several years.

“My passion for the game and the club is unquestionable. My track record speaks volumes. The long and short of my intention is to take the club back to where it belongs.”

Ndlovu said he was not ready to table his manifesto yet.

“I am not ready to unleash the manifesto yet, but soon I will be prepared to go public with it,” he said.

Former chairman Ernest “Maphepha” Sibanda has also been touted to be gunning for the chairman’s post, but the former Bosso and Warriors manager has not stated his position clearly.

Sibanda took over from Kennedy Ndebele as chairman in 2006, the year Bosso last won the league championship under coach Methembe Ndlovu.

He has previously won the championship as manager, but quit the chairmanship after a disastrous 2008 season.

He said: “I have done my part for the team as a player, manager and chairman. Let others take the club forward.”

Also up for grabs is post of committee member currently held by Charles “Six-One” Moyo. Former committee member Wisdom Mabhena is reported to be having a go once again.

Moyo beat Wisdom by eight votes getting 130 in the last election with another contestant, Dumisani Mabhena, getting 99.
