Chicken Inn secretary Tavengwa Hara confirmed the two had inked deals with the GameCocks and would be part of the 2015 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season campaign.

“We have signed Katsvairo and Chirambadare,” Hara said. “All I can say is that they are now our players and at Chicken Inn, we do not sign a player for less than two years.”

Katsvairo (25) was in Bulawayo on Monday where he signed his contract, but not part of the squad that went through their paces yesterday as Chicken Inn started their preparations for the 2015 season at Hartsfield Rugby Ground.

“He was in here yesterday (Monday) and he went back to Harare to pick up his belongings,” Hara said. “He will be joining the rest of the guys on Thursday (tomorrow).”

Chirambadare was the top goalscorer with 13 goals in the Zifa Southern Division One league with Tsholotsho FC, who have been promoted to the PSL.

A surprise appearance at Chicken Inn was midfielder Canaan Nkomo, who trained with Highlanders last week, with Hara saying the out-of-contract player had committed to the GameCocks.

“He says he has been training with Highlanders just to keep fit, otherwise he has committed to Chicken Inn,” Hara said.

The Bulawayo side could see the return of Guide Goddard from injury as he trained with the rest of the team yesterday.

Mkhokheli Dube, who is also yet to renew his contract, trained with the other players with Hara saying the former Highlanders striker has committed to Chicken Inn.

Thabani Moyo who played for Division One side Black Boots last year trained with Chicken Inn, who are not holding any trials, but have retained most of their players and promoted five juniors.

Chicken Inn could lose goalkeeper Liberty Chirava to Highlanders, but Elvis Chipezeze and Pride Zendera led three other goalkeepers under coach Julius Ndlovu.

Hara said Chicken Inn had shown defender Charles Mutero the door and the player was believed to be training with Dynamos.

Most of their players from last year went through a two-hour training session with assistant coach Prince Matore while head coach Joey Antipas is expected to join them today.

Those who attended yesterday’s session were skipper Danny “Deco” Phiri, Dube, Nkomo, Goddard, Chipezeze, Zendera, Clemence Matawu, Passmore Benard, Bhekimpilo “Barca” Ncube, Thomas Chimenya, Ishmael Lawe, Ben Nyahunzvi, Moses Jackson, Toto Banda, Lawrence Mhlanga, Devine Lunga, Thabani Goredema, Brian Juru, Brian Mbiriri and George Majika.

Tendai Mukumbi did not attend the first training session.
