According to the latest council minutes, ZITF company plans to open a restaurant in Bulawayo along ZITF Hillside Road, Famona. The acting town clerk reported on January 16 2015 that an application dated October 22 2014 for a development permit to establish a restaurant had been received from ZITF.

“The application had been advertised and adjacent property owners notified,” reads part of the minutes.

“No objections had been received. It had been circulated to municipal departments and no adverse comments had been received. At the time of writing of the report, there was no operational restaurant on the stand.”

The company hosts an international trade fair every year.

But apart from the flagship trade fair held annually in April/May, the ZITF runs at least six other major exhibitions — tourism showcase A’Sambeni, Mine Entra for the mining, engineering and transport industry, educational expo Scholastica, PrintPak for the printing and packaging sector and Ultim8 Home for homebuilders as well as Water, Sanitation and Energy Expo.

This year’s trade fair will be held from April 21 to 25.

The company’s general manager Nomathemba Ndlovu revealed last week that over 75% exhibition space had so far been booked for this year’s trade showcase.
