“As part of value addition to the 14th National Arts Merit Awards winners, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe in partnership with G-Tel and ZiFM will hand over smartphones to all the Nama 14th edition winners,” she said.

She indicated each winner will get a G-Tel model A706i. The first handover ceremony will be held in Bulawayo today (Thursday) and prizes will be presented from the ZiFM stand. The radio station is partner with NACZ.

Next week a similar function will be held in Harare for winners from the northern region.

More than seven artistes in Bulawayo, who include Clive Chigubhu, Raisedon Baya and Iyasa, among others, would be expected at the event to collect their prizes.

Artistes have praised the move by sponsors saying that it would be good to see the corporate world recognising arts activities in the country. They are prepared to work with companies and maintain the relationship that has been amicably created.
