In a notice, the SDA said: “Eveline High School Development Association is inviting applications from prospective debt collectors, who wish to assist the school trace and collect outstanding fees and levies from owing parents and guardians for the period January 1 2009 to December 2014”.

Last year, Primary and Secondary Education minister Lazarus Dokora ordered schools not to chase away pupils for fees, but gave them the green light to use traditional and civil courts to recover the money.

This came as most local authorities and parastatals were also engaging debt collectors to recover debts.
