THE Zanu PF Masvingo provincial executive has resolved to repossess fired Provincial Affairs minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti’s farm accusing him of undermining government’s land reform programme and constantly attacking President Robert Mugabe and his wife, Grace.

The party’s provincial spokesperson, Jeppy Jaboon, confirmed the development yesterday saying they had forwarded the proposal to the Zanu PF national leadership.

“This Bhasikiti has attacked the Zanu PF leadership and discredited the land reform programme although he was part and parcel of it.

“We feel insulted by what he has been saying about the land reform programme,” Jaboon said.

“We have recommended to the national leadership that his farm be repossessed because we feel he does not appreciate the importance of the land reform programme.”

Since his fallout with the Zanu PF government, Bhasikiti has been targeted by party hawks who want him removed from the farm with his successor, Shuvai Mahofa, last year announcing her intentions to take over the property saying the ex-Mwenenzi East MP was wasting the land.

Mahofa accused Bhasikiti of being part of a cabal that allegedly plotted to kill Mugabe.

But Bhasikiti yesterday rubbished Jaboon’s claims, adding that he was prepared to defend his farm in the courts of law.

“So he thinks that they can easily take that farm just like that?

Well they have been saying that since last year, but they are just wishing. I was never given land by the Masvingo Zanu PF province, I was given by government. I will not lose sleep over what they say,” Bhasikiti said.

“That talk is meaningless. I will wait to see how they intend to repossess the farm. For clarity, I am still a Zanu PF member and an MP for Mwenenzi East so if they think that they are dealing with a nobody, they are lying. I have not been expelled from the party. I remain a fully subscribed member of Zanu PF not what these people are saying.”

The former minister lost his government post in February this year after he was linked to former Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s camp.

“The farms do not belong to Zanu PF, but government and if people are ignorant, the law will teach them.

“I am a Zimbabwean and very productive on my farm unless government is anti-production, then we shall meet in the courts,” Bhasikiti said.

Zanu PF supporters have threatened to repossess farms allocated to former Mashonaland West provincial chairman Temba Mliswa, former Mashonaland East provincial chairman Ray Kaukonde and former secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa accusing the owners of plotting Mugabe’s ouster.
