The teams went to the breather goalless before the hosts took the lead after 65 minutes when Jonathan Bolingi knocked the ball past Platinum goalkeeper Petros Mhari after being fed by Given Singuluma.

Substitute Tarisai Rukanda, who had come in for Obrey Chirwa at halftime, scored the equaliser for the visitors, beating veteran keeper Robert Kidiaba from close range.

Mazembe were using the match as part of their preparations for the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup group stages opener against Al Hilal of Sudan, while Platinum were preparing for this weekend’s resumption of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) where they host Buffaloes at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.

The PSL was on a two-week break to facilitate the Warriors’ participation in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi last Saturday and yesterday’s African Nations Championships match against the Comoros Islands.
