The councillors said several serviced residential stands in Magwegwe North and Tshabalala remained unallocated and yet they were paid for two years ago, causing unnecessary inconvenience to the targeted beneficiaries.

“This would end up creating illegal settlements which would end up forcing council to regularise them,” councillor Siboniso Khumalo was quoted as saying in a recent council report.

Councillor Rodney Jele said central government’s economic blueprint ZimAsset was clear in terms of housing delivery. As such, residents should be given the service.

The councillors demanded a detailed report explaining the delays.
