Dlakama (27) of Nketa 7 in Bulawayo, who was unceremoniously stripped of her crown a few days after winning the beauty pageant, recently filed a report at the Bulawayo Central Police Station accusing Thandazile Victoria Ndlovu of insulting her.

Ndlovu, who was cited in court papers as ex-wife to Dlakama’s boyfriend, last week appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa charged with violating section 88 (a) of the Post and Telecommunications Services Act Chapter 12:02.

The matter was placed off remand as Dlakama said the witness she wanted to call was in South Africa. The magistrate ruled that the matter should proceed by way of summons.

Allegations against Ndlovu are that on September 16 last year she sent Dlakama, who works at the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority offices in Bulawayo, insulting messages on her mobile phone.

Dlakama was at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo at the time.

The message was forwarded to her by one Keith after he received it from Ndlovu.

The message read: “I know that she could have been Miss Zimbabwe, but the lady who broke my marriage and had a kid with my hubby is more beautiful than her.

“It’s only complexion. My age Keith — I am 40 years you know – but you know how I look.

“What more of my hubby who is 43, so this is what I mean that she wants money.

“What made her not to go to other men? A 30-year-old, seriously? This is prostitution. She is a gold digger. She wants money (sic).”

Dlakama reported the matter at Bulawayo Central Police Station on June 12 this year, leading to Ndlovu’s arrest.
