The orphaned Magenya, obtained 17 points at Advanced Level and has already been accepted by Nust to pursue studies in radiography. He told Southern Eye that he was racing against time to meet the Monday deadline where he is expected to make a down payment of $200 to enable him to attend lectures.

“I have no one to pay fees for me. I live with my young sister at home. It’s only the two of us. I am appealing for help from anyone so that I could further my studies and work to get myself and my young sisters a better future,” Magenya said.

“My dreams of being a radiographer are now being shattered. I applied to various organisations seeking for assistance and they have not yet responded. Moreover looking at the deadline which is on Monday, I see myself not going to school.”

Well-wishers can contact him on 0778 942 122 or they can deposit the money under his name into Nust, FBC Bank account number 31200 6862 0276 and Branch Code 8305
