TOP Southern Region Soccer League teams Bulawayo City, Bulawayo Chiefs and Bantu Rovers are off to Hwange this weekend as the championship race hots up.

BY THANDIWE MOYO Bulawayo City will face Hwange Under-20, while Bulawayo Chiefs take on ZPC Hwange and Bantu Rovers are against Makomo.

City lead the standings with 52 points with second-placed Chiefs six points off, while Bantu Rovers are tied with third-placed Technosphere on 40 points.

Technosphere, another Hwange-based team, travel to Bulawayo for an encounter against NUST at Luveve Stadium.

Fifth-placed ZPC Hwange host Bulawayo Chiefs with the hope of further denting their championship aspirations.

Chiefs will be looking for nothing short of victory as they hope to keep pressure on the log leaders, still crossing their fingers that the log leaders will at some point drop points.

Having drawn against Black Boots in their last encounter, they will pray that the municipality side lose in Hwange.

Coming from a massive win against Mpumalanga, ZPC’s morale will be high despite the fact that Mpumalanga are one of the teams that anchor the log standings.
